National Geographic Magazine has published my images of the reconstruction of the Notre-Dame cathedral of Paris as a cover story with 36-pages in the February, 2022 issue. Complimenting the magazine are a custom-built immersive webpage featuring my exclusive drone videography and a podcast in NatGeo’s Overheard series.
The feature article was written by National Geographic’s Environmental Editor, Robert Kunzig, and the package was put together by James Wellford, Shweta Gulati, Maya Valentine, Oscar A. Santamariña, Brian T. Jacobs, Elaine Bradley and Cindy Leitner.
Artist Fernando G. Baptista produced an in-depth graphic of Notre-Dame through time with the help of Patricia Healy.
My coverage of the cathedral after the fire is based on over a year of rare access to the worksite in partnership with the public institution in charge of reconstruction of Notre-Dame de Paris.
The publication of my still photography and the drone images in National Geographic was also featured on the TODAY show, one of the most-watched television programs in the United States.
Coinciding with publication, I was also interviewed by Emily Martin and Sylvia Mphofe about the story behind the cover photograph and featured in Whitney Johnson’s photography newsletter.
